10th NSA Closed title for Kelvin Ndhlovu

It wasn’t all business as usual for Kelvin Ndhlovu at the NSA Closed on Friday night when he had to step up his game to defeat a determined Ruan Olivier 3-1 in a match full of spectacular shots and exciting rallies. In the end Kelvin’s experience and shot quality carried him through but a lot of credit has to go to the young Olivier for the way he played.

In the ladies final Christine Ferreira faced Tuks student Hannelize Human who had a good win against the higher seeded Megan Page in the semi final. The match also lived up to expectations and the crowd, among them a group of St. Mary’s DSG girls who supported their coach, were treated to a quality display.

Johan Fourie won the B section after an unexpected defeat in the preliminary round kept him out of the A section. He didn’t have it easy though against Mat Dewey who also played impressive squash all week. Blaar Coetzee won the C section after Conrad van der Merwe had to forfeit due to injury.
