Northerns Masters Closed results

The Northerns Masters Closed tournament was completed today with surprise finalists in some of the age groups. Where there were some monster matches earlier in the week most of the finals were one sided affairs. Here are the results:

  • Ladies winner Sharon Cousins, runner-up Martmari van Greuning (round robin)
  • Men 35-39 winner Craig Ruane, runner-up Giovanni Raffa (round robin)
  • Men 40-44 Ashwell Jenneker beat Mark Southwood 3-0 in the final
  • Men 45-49 Milan Radmanovic beat Magalan Pather 3-1 in the final
  • Men 50-54 Conrad van der Merwe beat John Mclachlan 3-2 in the final
  • Men 55-59 winner Steve Artman, runner-up Murray Coombs (round robin)

NMSA Satellite 2 draws updated

Many round 3 matches are still outstanding, mainly due to the Dave Short tournament that took place this weekend. Draws will be updated as results come in. Here are the draws for the NMSA Satellite 2 tournament updated (Saturday 13/6 at 13:30) – NMSA Sat 2 draw May 2015.

The committee has decided that there will be a prize giving ceremony on Friday 19 June at 18h00. The venue will be confirmed at a later stage.

Please send your results as soon as you’ve played but no later than next Sunday at 12h00. Good luck and enjoy the tournament.

Henning Holtzhausen and Makgosi Peloakgosi were the respective winners in the boys and girls under 19 sections at the NJSA Open tournament held this weekend.

Pretoria teams do well at St Andrews squash festival

This past weekend saw 3 teams from Pretoria Schools participate in the St Andrews Squash Festival. Pretoria Boys High School sent 2 teams to the festival and St Albans sent one team.

PBHS A won their matches against Kingswood 6-0, Rondebosch 6-0, Selborne College 6-0 and Michaelhouse 5-0. They lost against St Andrews Bloemfontein 2-3.

PBHS B won against St Andrews Grahamstown 5-1, Grey B 4-2 and Parktown Boys High 3-3 (on games). They lost against Westville 2-4 and Kearsney 2-4.

St Albans lost their matches against Kearsney 1-5, Queens College 1-5, Parktown 1-5, St Andrews Grahamstown 2-4 and St Andrews 1-5.

  • Main Draws: Mens draw 32 players, Ladies draw 16 players
  • Local players entry fee R150 to be paid at the 1st round qualifying.
  • Players are required to mark or referee qualifying and main draw matches.

Marko Fourie & Makgosi Peloakgosi are Northerns champions

The NJSA Open round robin tournament took place this past weekend. The Boys u19 winner was Marko Fourie, with runner-up Cleelynd Potgieter. The Girls u19 winner was Makgosi Peloakgosi and runner-up Boipelo Montwedi.
