Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to the host Uitsig or a very successful tournament.

Masters IPT Selection Criteria (singles and doubles)

  • You must be 35 on the 8th of September the current year
  • You must annually register for NMSA R 125
  • You must have an active NSF number and be in good standing with your club.
  • You must have an active SA Squash number R120. You can acquire or verify at www.SportyHQ.com
  • You must have competed in one of the NMSA tournaments in the specific year and have indicated that you are available for the IPT selection. The following NMSA tournaments is IPT qualifiers:
    • 1 Open satellite tournament.
    • 1 Closed tournament.
    • NMSA Sponserd league series.

The team will then be selected from the masters that qualified and indicated that they are available for ITP team selection.
Singles.
Teams are selected by the age group and strength by the committee.
Doubles.
Teams approach the committee and if both entrants qualify they will be in the team. Remember there are mixed and single gender teams, you can play in both.

  • Venue: Collegians Squash Club, Pietermaritzburg
  • Entry fees: R 575 per player (R 2 875 per team of 5)
  • Entry closing date: 18 April 2019

Note! To represent Northerns Masters you will have to enter through NMSA with a NSF and Squash SA Number.

Welcome back to the Northerns Squash community after the holidays. The new season starts with a bang and there are a significant number of events scheduled for the first 2 months of the year. The calendar is full but some careful planning will let you get the most out of your squash year.

The Northerns Squash Federation held their annual awards function at the Voortrekker Monument on Thursday evening with a large number of people attending to celebrate the province’s success story of the 2018 season.

Northerns have had an exceptional season on all levels, especially at junior and senior level. The province won the Gary Thompson award for the most successful province at the senior Growthpoint IPT after winning the Men’s C & D sections and performing well in the other sections too. Individual players also won a variety of awards at the IPT.

The juniors weren’t far behind, winning 9 medals out of 13 teams that participated in the age group IPT’s, including 3 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. A record number of 14 juniors made the SA Top 10 rankings and 3 Northerns players were selected to play in the WSF World Junior championships.
