Herewith information regarding Dave Short. Please:

– submit entries via The Committee (masters@northerns.co.za).

– All team members to be in good standing with NMSA. (Otherwise they will not be permitted to participate)

– Pay total Team Fee into: Northerns Masters, Standard Bank Centurion Acc 4103 71017, Branch 01-26-45-40.

– All team members who have not paid the R120 SAM Levy yet, to do so upon entry (Not to be confused with the R120 SAA fee)

Squash SA membership renewals

Message from Squash SA:

It has come to our attention that some squash players are paying their annual Squash SA registrations/renewals directly into the Squash SA Bank Account: 0039 88910.  PLEASE REFRAIN from making deposits into this account as we are not able to process payments.  SportyHQ makes provision for on-line payments through the PayFast portal which provides an automated payment process.

Another matter which is apparent is that players are creating new profiles on SportyHQ when their profiles already exist and this then leads to duplication of profiles.  This means that another membership number is also generated and this adds to the confusion.  There is a distinct difference between ‘renewal’ (players are already on SportyHQ database) and ‘registering on SportyHQ’ (first time member).

If you have registered with Squash SA as a member in 2015, 2016 and 2017 then you will have a profile on SportyHQ.  Please then contact Squash SA to provide you with the activation link to your profile on SportyHQ.

NMSA newsletter #6 – NMSA Closed tournament

The NMSA Closed was held at PHSOB from 7-12 August 2017. This was used by many as a last minute qualifying event for IPT selection.

–      There were 44 entrants. Six Ladies competed (1 invitational).

–      Round Robins were played in 8 sections. It was possible to schedule at least one Round Robin in each age group (except for 35-39 & 40-44 which were combined into one group, since only 2 entries were received in the first group). Read more

The outcome was: Weekend Tournament : 20; Month Tournament: 12.

It was, however, decided to cancel this Tournament for 2017, since at this stage it cannot comfortably be introduced to the NSF calendar without any clashes.

2017 Dave Short Masters IPT

The annual DAVE SHORT Tournament will be held in Pietermaritzburg over the weekend of the 2nd to 4th June 2017 at Collegians Club.

The tournament format will remain the same as in previous years with each player enjoying 3 singles matches.  Please note that entries are restricted to the first 250 players on a first come first serve basis.

  • Any squash player wishing to compete in this Tournament must have a Squash South Africa number and be in good standing with all sections of NSF.
  • As this in an interprovincial Tournament all Northern’s Squash Players wishing to participate must apply through NMSA.
  • Please remember that the R100 Masters Registration fee is also applicable to all members of Dave Short Teams.
